Shure GLXD 14R is a dynamic, cardioid condenser microphone with the ability to easily change between polar patterns. A battery-powered mic for use on stage or in public address systems.

The “shure glx-d advanced” is a wireless microphone that allows users to use the GLXD app on their smartphone. The device has a range of up to 100 feet and can be used for both voice and instrument monitoring.

The GLXD 14R Shure is a Rackmount digital wireless guitar system that operates in the globally-unlicensed 2.4GHz frequency band. Unlike analog wireless guitar systems, there is no need to purchase an additional license, nor will your frequency ever be banned from certain countries using a digital system.

When the receiver is initially turned on, it looks for the best available frequency and then connects it to the transmitter. It achieves this without the need to push any more buttons. A total of nine systems may be employed at the same time.

In terms of performance dependability, constant signal strength, and the longest battery life with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, the Shure GLXD line outperforms all other wireless guitar systems.

Those who prefer to Rackmount their wireless receiver rather than putting it in their pedalboard or on top of their amp will tremendously benefit from the GLXD 14R Shure.

The lithium-ion rechargeable battery in this system features a charging port on the right-hand side of the receiver. For this system and the remainder of the GLXD series, each lithium-ion battery lasts 16 hours on a full charge and has a total life of 13,000 hours.

Reliability

In terms of dependability, the Shure GLXD line is unrivaled. Each channel monitors the frequency condition using six distinct frequencies that are continually scanned. The audio stream is then sent on the three clearest audio frequencies out of the six available. If one of the frequencies experiences interference or deteriorates, it switches to a backup frequency without stopping the music.

This is why GLXD systems have received so much praise for their signal clarity and dependability. It’s a simple setup that ties the receiver and transmitter together automatically. There’s no need to fiddle with the channels or the settings.

Tone

There is no discernible tone difference between the Shure GLXD 14 and a good connection. The frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz, with a dynamic range of 120dB, same like the rest of Shure’s GLXD line. (Excellent for bassists)

Every evaluation of the Shure GLXD series, including mine with the GLXD 16, asserts the same tone between the wireless system and a high-quality cable.

Durability

The GLXD 14R Shure’s receiver and the transmitter are made of metal giving this system 5 of 5 stars for Durability and longevity. For more protection for your transmitter from impact, dust, humidity, and sweat, we highly recommend adding the Neotech wireless Pouch from Amazon at $15. As a matter of fact, we recommend that pouch for all wireless transmitters.

Convenience

The GLXD 14R Shure is the all-time most convenient wireless guitar system for a musician who wants to Rackmount his receiver. Tied for 3rd for the most extended battery life of 16 hours with the GLXD 14 and GLXD 16, this system also eliminates disposable battery purchases. The lithium-ion battery that comes with purchasing this unit is recharged in the receivers charging port, making this system that much more convenient.

Range

The range of the Shure GLXD series is not as far as most of the wireless guitar systems on our list, which is its biggest and only flaw. Indoors, up to 100 feet of line-of-sight (maximum 200 feet); outdoors, up to 65 feet of line-of-sight The term “line-of-sight” refers to the distance between two points (165 ft. ideal conditions)

Even if it’s certainly adequate to cover even the largest of stages, if you’re trying to do a solo deep among a vast stadium audience, this may not be the greatest wireless option for you. Personally, I use the Shure GLXD 16, which has the same range as the GLXD 14 and 14r, and I’ve never had a range issue.

Features

  • Simultaneous channels for up to 9 compatible systems (11 in ideal conditions)
  • Possibility of charging the battery using the receiver’s charging port
  • Rackmountable
  • Active pickups are supported.
  • Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries provide up to 16 hours of usage each full charge and a total of 13,000 hours of use. Separately offered Shure SB902 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery for GLX-D.
  • Shure’s GLXD family’s Automatic Frequency Management is utilized for clean audio and quick auto-setup.
  • Using bidirectional communication, the transmitter and receiver change frequencies together automatically.
